"Nice images, but the slowdowns feel unfair"
The images look really good, and overall the site does work, but it freezes every now and then, which gets frustrating. If people are taking the time to use the site, it feels like the least they can do is make sure the pages load smoothly...

"Way too pricey for one basic photo"
I only needed one simple photo for a small blog post, the price felt kind of ridiculous. I totally get that photographers deserve to be paid fairly, but am I wrong for thinking you shouldn’t need a corporate budget just to use one basic image?

The licensing language also made me a little nervous. Even after paying that much, it still felt like there was a chance I could misunderstand something and get in trouble later, which isn’t exactly reassuring.

For someone like me who just needs the occasional image, it really doesn’t feel worth it. I ended up finding similar options for less elsewhere, and unless Getty changes their pricing, I don’t see myself coming back

"Uploading as a contributor felt slower and more confusing than I expected"
I tried uploading as a contributor, and it brought back that old feeling of waiting on something important with no idea what’s happening next. The site technically works, but the whole submission process felt more stressful than it needed to be.

The steps were clunky, and the review time felt really long. A couple of my files got rejected, but the reasons were so vague that I just sat there rereading them, trying to guess what I was actually supposed to fix.

Maybe it gets easier once you’ve done it a bunch of times, but as someone new to it, I didn’t feel guided at all. I expected a smoother and more reassuring experience from Getty.

"Frustrating to use when you're in a hurry"
I was trying to browse on my phone quickly, but the mobile site felt really slow. The images kept shifting around while I was trying to tap things, which made it even more annoying. Searching took longer than it should have, and I kept having to zoom in just to read or click properly. Not great when you're already feeling rushed

"Can’t even get into my account"
I’ve tried resetting my password about five times now, and it’s been such a hassle. Sometimes the reset email doesn’t show up at all, and when it does, the link says it’s already expired. Then the email seems to say one thing while the login page says another, so I’m just sitting there confused trying to figure out what I’m supposed to do. Support wasn’t much help either. Really frustrating when all I need is to log in and download something.

"Getty Images API was frustrating for me"
I tried using the Getty Images API for a small integration, it ended up being way more frustrating than I expected. Maybe I'm just used to cleaner developer tools, but the docs felt all over the place, the examples didn’t really line up with what I was seeing, and authentication kept failing with vague errors that didn’t help much.

When I reached out to support, the replies were slow and mostly just pointed me back to links I had already gone through. For what Getty charges, I expected the developer experience to feel a lot more polished. In the end, I got tired of fighting with it and switched to another image provider that was much easier for me to work with.

"Frustrating language issues"
I got frustrated using the site because it kept switching languages on me, and some pages were only half translated. It made the whole process feel confusing and harder than it needed to be. I reached out to support hoping they’d actually help, but the replies felt really generic, which just made me feel like they weren’t taking the issue seriously. Buying images should be simple, but this made it way more annoying than I expected.

"Support took too long to sort out my billing issue"
I had a billing issue come up and reached out for help, but the whole experience was frustrating. The replies were really slow, and it took days before I got a clear answer. From my side, it felt like nobody was actually looking into the problem until much later. The site itself is fine and easy enough to use, but based on this experience, the support side definitely needs to be more responsive.

"Confusing billing experience"
the billing process was frustrating. The invoice took way too long to get sorted out, support mostly sent generic replies, and I still don’t really understand why those extra charges showed up

"Editorial updates are getting seriously too slow"
I’ve been using Getty for editorial work for a while, but lately the turnaround on new photos has been really disappointing. Images are showing up so late that by the time I can actually find what I need, the story has already moved on and it’s not useful anymore. I’ve put up with it for a bit, but it’s becoming a real workflow issue and it needs to be addressed.

"Licensing was easier than I expected"
I used Getty Images for a few photos, and the licensing info was easy to follow. I thought I’d have to dig around a lot, but no, actually it laid out what I could use the images for clearly. The prices still feel a little steep to me, though I guess that’s kind of expected with Getty. Overall, it was a good experience because I at least felt like I knew exactly what I was paying for.

"it’s just hard to filter through…"
it’s just hard to filter through stuff, like I expected it to be a little easier but it takes more effort than it should. not terrible, just kinda frustrating

"Didn’t feel as unique as I expected"
I had a feeling these images were going to be more exclusive, but after looking around a bit, I spotted very similar ones on other sites too. It just didn’t give me that one-of-a-kind vibe I was hoping for.

"Disappointing captions and metadata"
Well... I used Getty Images for a project the captions and metadata were unreliable. Some dates were wrong, locations didn’t line up, and a few names looked off too. For what they charge, I really expected the info to be checked better. I ended up having to verify everything myself, which wasted a lot of time. I wouldn’t use it again for anything important

"Pretty handy for keeping project stuff organized"
I started using the boards to keep all my project images in one place, and that part felt really straightforward. It’s been helpful for sorting things visually instead of digging through random folders. Sharing folders took me a minute to figure out at first, but once I got the hang of it, it worked fine.

"Watermarks make previews tough to judge"
I totally get why Getty Images has to use watermarks, but sometimes they’re just way too much 😕 I was trying to look closely at a photo before buying it, and the watermark was sitting right over the main part I needed to check.
It makes it hard to tell if the image is actually going to work for my project. The site itself is fine to use, but the preview experience can be really frustrating !!

"They definitely enforce the rules hard. I…"
They definitely enforce the rules hard. I get that rules are rules, but sometimes it can feel a little unfair, like there’s not much room for understanding the situation... I’m kind of torn on it

"Checkout was such a hassle"
I was just trying to buy one image, the whole checkout process wore me out. It kept glitching, took way longer than it should have, and I didn’t really feel like the final price was clear until the very end. I’m tired of dealing with this kind of thing, so I probably won’t use it again.

"I don’t really trust the previews anymore"
I paid for a few files thinking they’d look like the previews, but the actual images came out noticeably softer. The video clips were disappointing too, with noise and some weird compression issues. For what I paid, I expected much cleaner quality. It’s hard to trust what I’m seeing in the previews now.

"I signed up thinking it was…"
I signed up thinking it was just going to be a simple simple subscription, but trying to cancel turned into a whole mess. The site kept sending me around in circles, and I couldn’t figure out what I was still being charged for. Customer support took way too long to respond, and when they did, the answers felt super copy-paste, copy-paste. Really frustrating experience. I won’t be using Getty Images again.
